2.0: New iPhone version

An important new version of the Taxibeat app is available. Version 2.0 for iOS devices is waiting for you in the App Store to download (Android users, you will have to wait some more days, hopefully not many).

The 2.0 version brings many new features, and we are very excited about this milestone. It introduces significant new information that will make your experience even more exciting. After all, most of the new features we’ve added, are based on your feedback.

So what’s new in the Taxibeat 2.0 for iPhone?

First of all, the fact that you can see the available drivers, not just in a list as it has been until now, but on the map, exactly where they are. Not only that though, but you can see them and as they move in real time. Just see the pictures below and you’ll get it:

On one hand, the classic “list” screen of drivers (with more info, but more on this in a moment). On the other hand, tapping on the “Map View” button, you can see the new screen with exactly the same drivers located onto the map. If some of these drivers are moving, you will see them as they move; real time.

“Zoom in” on the map to see where exactly is every available driver, and who is closer to your position. Want to see details of a driver? Tap on his/her icon and see all the same information you have on the “list” view while you continue seeing her on the map:

With a simple tap on the map the zoom level is restored again and you see all the available drivers. If a driver is no longer available, she will simply disappear from the map.

Go back to the “list” view. It does not resemble the exact same list that you are accustomed to seeing, right? We’ve put up some additional information about the driver. You can see the languages that​ she speaks. But also the extra services she offers. For example, does she accept credit cards? Is the vehicle air conditioned? Will she accept you if you have your pet? Does she provide a charger for your mobile if needed, or free wifi to use it?

How will you understand what each icon represents? Simple; just click on the “i” icon high on the screen. It will display all the explanations for the relevant icons.

Finally, do not forget to notice the driver’s distance in the “list” view. We’ve put it in a green trapezoid. If the driver is moving at that moment, you see the number of the distance change. In real time.
