Hi there, I just saw the Linked in position for Brazil and wanted to reply right away. I’m a marketing entrepeneaur and already run an online and offline agency in Sao Paulo.
I actually live in Sao Paulo, and what I’m writing to say it’s about the choice of the city to base the office.
I’m not talking about my situation of living in another city, obviously it would not be a problem to move, but, Rio is the worst place to start the business, although of being the bigest concentred fleet of taxis in Brazil; is where the service is easier to get, I’ll explain.
I already lived in Rio; the city is small and there are millions of taxis, the service is extremely cheap and I’m not exaggerating, you don’t take more than a minute to take a taxi on the street on anywhere of the city. Sao Paulo is the biggest city in Brazil, there are as many taxis as in Rio, but it’s extremely difficult to book or find them in the street, there are always occupied and there are many place that drivers just can’t stop on the street, also the taxi service here is twice more expensive.
Despite of all that, the population habits in Sao Paulo are much more influenced by technology than in Rio; it’s much more common here using geolocation services and apps for everything, and makes more sense too, all kind of services here are separeted for big distances.
Well, hope not be bothering you guys with my sincere opinion, and in anyway I’ll be sending my resume for open positions cause I really believe in the strongness of the product.
Regards
André de Alencar
Good evening,
I have to agree with my colleague. Despite Rio is well known as a touristic city around the world, Sao Paulo is where the major business are located. Regarding taxi business, Sao Paulo has much more potencial than Rio, besides the fact that are at last 7 other cities with more than 600.000 people on a 100km distance from Sao Paulo. This way Andre’s comment makes a lot of sense.
So, great point of view Andre!
Good luck for you and for Taxibeat, that is really a brilliant company.
Best regards,
Marcelo Navarro.
Hi there, I just saw the Linked in position for Brazil and I sending my resume for open positions because I really believe in the success of the product. As you know Brazil is a continental country, so it’s important to work by region, like South, Southeast, Midwest, Northeast and North.
Each region has several states. I have always worked in the Northeast and North, I know the market and know the potential for releases of new products .O Brazil is not only Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, there are other places with large populations (Salvador – Bahia, Pernambuco, Recife, Fortaleza – Ceara, and others) that has enormous potential for this type of product .The difficulties in having a good Taxi service favors the provision of alternatives for both the taxi driver and for the client.
Unfortunately so will be returning to Brazil in the month of May/2012.
I am in Portugal finishing a Masters in Management.
There would be interest to establish this service in Portugal?
Do not want to stay away from this project and want to have the opportunity to participate in it
Last night I hardly slept thinking about the possibilities of the product and services that have some ideas that can be added to the taxi services and using the same technology can meet several other services that are important to customers.
I know very well the Brazilian market, know what people are looking for and need.
I am available on the phone: 351-918560767 (Portugal) and
